AVAILABLE TO FULL TIME PRE-PROFESSIONAL STUDENTS

 

SCHOLARSHIP FOR ADVANCED DIPLOMA AND DIPLOMA OF DANCE   –  APPLICATIONS CLOSED

The scholarship is offered to prospective full-time students and will cover 1 year of study fees, totalling $16,830. This scholarship is open to students who wish to advance their studies to a Diploma (1 year) or the Advanced Diploma (2 years).

The scholarship is open to current Certificate IV or Diploma students as well as new enrolments. If you are placed in the Advanced Diploma, funding for second year of study will be discussed with the donor if the two year study placement is offered.

The scholarship will be received by a student who represents The National Ballet School’s values and demonstrates the following:

  • Demonstrated strength in classical ballet technique appropriate to Diploma/Advanced Diploma level.

  • Strong artistic expression, musicality, and developing performance maturity.

  • Commitment to full‑time training with professionalism, reliability, and dedication.

  • Clear vocational ambition and readiness for pre‑professional training.

  • Positive contribution to school culture and collaborative spirit.

  • Eagerness to apply feedback, resilience, and a growth mindset.

Applications are via video submission with a cover letter explaining why they should receive the scholarship.

 

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR’S SCHOLARSHIP FOR BOYS   –  APPLICATIONS CLOSED

This scholarship is open to male dancers who wish to advance their artistry by studying full-time in either the Diploma or Advanced Diploma of Dance. Elected by our Artistic Director, Damian Smith, the student will be offered a Full Scholarship for 1 Year of Study, a total of $16,170 or Half-Year Scholarships at $8085 (x2).

The scholarship will be received by a student who represents The National Ballet School’s values and demonstrates the following:

  • Strong technical foundation and potential for classical ballet as a male artist.
  • Artistic sensitivity, musicality, and expressive movement quality.
  • Demonstrated courage, discipline, and perseverance.
  • Leadership, maturity, and contribution to a respectful studio environment.
  • Commitment to long‑term ballet training and aspirations.
  • Motivated application video and thoughtful personal statement.
 
AWARDS – CLOSED

Kathleen Gorham Perpetual Trophy (Jean Stewart) $2,000 

Awarded to a student who demonstrates;

  • Exceptional artistic quality, style, and musicality.
  • Refined technique and presentation in classical ballet.
  • Professionalism, humility, and dedication to craft.
  • Embodies the values and legacy of The National Ballet School.

Eileen Tasker Award $1,000

Awarded to a student who demonstrates;

  • Significant personal development and artistic growth.
  • Commitment to training and a strong work ethic.
  • Acts as a positive role model to peers.
  • Resilience, consistency, and enthusiasm for learning. 

Jean Alexander $1,000 awarded from The Gertrude Estate

Awarded to a student who demonstrates;

  • A consistent, strong work ethic and commitment.
  • Artistic and technical improvement across the year.
  • Kindness, maturity, and positive school citizenship.
  • Contribution to an encouraging and supportive training environment.

 

 

AVAILABLE TO PART TIME STUDENTS

 

THE PART TIME NATIONAL BALLET SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP – APPLICATIONS CLOSED

This Scholarship covers 50% of fees for 1 year of study, a maximum of $8250. This excludes production fees. There are two scholarships offered annually, received by one female dancer and one male dancer. The student must commit to the whole year of study. Unless agreed by the faculty. 

Applications via video submission with a cover letter explaining why they should receive the scholarship. Open to current and new students.

Awarded to a student who demonstrates;

  • Strong technical potential and developing artistry.
  • Consistent attendance and demonstrated commitment to classes.
  • Respectful attitude, discipline, and strong work habits.
  • Willingness to represent the school with pride and integrity.
  • Submission of video and thoughtful motivation statement.

 

AWARDS – APPLICATIONS CLOSED
  • End Of Year Award. Offered to 4 top performing students who demonstrate The National Ballet School’s core values. This will cover $550 for tuition in the following year.
